Healthy New Supermarket Finds

I’m always on the lookout for healthy new products on the market. I especially like foods that come in portion controlled packs! Several of the picks for this post came from recommendations from my clients as well as trips to Whole Foods, Matter of Health, Morton Williams and random delis in NYC. I’d love to hear about any new products YOU come across. Add your ideas to the comments section and I’ll take a look!
Cauliflower Rice
Trader Joe’s Riced Cauliflower & Green Giant Cauliflower Crumbles
This is the newest craze! I actually wasn’t able to find the Green Giant crumbles at any store. I heard they sold it at Whole Foods – however was told by a Whole Food worker they didn’t stock in. Check out your local Trader Joe’s! Stay tuned for a blog post on Helathy Cauliflower Rice. And in the meantime, be on the lookout for these valuble little crumbles!

No Cow Bar Dairy and Gluten Free energy bar
These bars are loaded protein and fiber and super low in carbs and sugar. My favorite flavor is Peanut Butter Cookie Dough. Each bar has a whopping 20 grams of plant-based brown rice + pea protein, but just 2 grams of net carbs and 1 gram of sugar! To keep those sugar numbers low, No Cow Bars are sweetened with glycerin, erythritol, monk fruit extract and stevia. The erythritol
(and prebiotic fiber) may be an issue for those with IBS or similar digestive issues – just a heads up!

Flavored vinegars
Flavored vinegars are one of my favorite ways to add flavor and zest to vegetables, salads, sauces, and marinades. I have a whole collection of them! They add minimal calories, sodium or carbs (but of the fruit vinegars do contain carbs so be sure to read labels if you need to be very strict with carb intake). Some of my favorite flavored vinegars are: pear, raspberry, fig, pomegranate, ginger, honey white balsamic and honey apple.
