New Supermarket Finds

I’m always on the lookout for new supermarket finds – preferably foods are in portion controlled size containers. I found some good ones that I think many of you will like! flax

Carrington Farms Flax Paks. These are convenient little packs that are great for people on the run. Just add it to cereal, yogurt and smoothies. Flax seeds contain fiber, vitamins, minerals and alpha linolenic acid (a vegetable source of omega 3 fats). They may help lower cholesterol and can keep you feeling full longer.  Thank you to my client S.F for sharing this one!

Health Warrior Chia Bar  chocolate peanut butter flavor. This tiny little snack bar packs a nutritious punch! It caught my eye because I love Chia seeds. Ok, I love chocolate and peanut butter too! I found this at Whole Foods. Check out their website to find where you can buy them. It is also gluten free in case you have a gluten sensitivity/intolerance. It comes in other flavors.

Lifeway Lowfat Kefir Smoothie.  I love these drinks! Tastes like a smoothie made with fruit and Greek yogurt – except that you don’t have to make it or wash the blender. Just open the bottle! It’s a perfect pre or post workout drink as it contains protein and carbs. And best of all – it is a great source of probiotics which supports digestive health and immunity (probiotics are a huge source of research at this time as they are being found to have numerous health benefits!)  I found it at Food Emporium, but I’m sure you can find it in other stores.   (pic credit on slider)
